Dalslands Aktiviteter
We encourage many of our guests to use public transport or car share to arrive here and offer different packages with activities and accommodation to get them to stay longer. It’s normally possible for guests to stay longer and add more activities in any case. We also work with tourism businesses in the area, helping each other put together the different packages.
Most of our activities have very little or almost no impact on the environment. We work constantly to improve our sustainability and are members of Swedish Welcome, amongst others.
Many of our guests come from other countries but a large proportion of visitors are from Sweden or Norway as our site is very close to the Norwegian border.
To make it easier for our guests to be green there are waste sorting and deposit return containers in both the campsites and the main building. Breakfasts and dinners which are delivered to the campsites are either in food containers from Light My Fire which are washed after use, or wood and palm leaf plates and cutlery and renewable bamboo mugs.
When it comes to local collaboration we work with several nearby businesses and individuals who hire out for example cottages and mountain bikes. We team up with Baldersnäs Herrgård for different things, such as driving the horse and cart for wedding parties.
Bedlinen is washed at our neighbourhood laundry, Kåpi. When building and renovating the site most of the material and tools are bought from the local builders merchant. Almost of our staff live in the area.
We offer a choice of different packages during low season, with something for everyone, from school classes to kick off meetings/teambuilding, conference packages and holiday packages for families. This is to increase occupancy during the months when fewer tourists come. We also combine packages with other operators in the area. Our guests can for instance stay the night at Kroppefjälls B&B or paddle canoes at Silverlake. It’s vitally important to attract visitors outside high season as it’s a stimulus which can help provide more full-time jobs.
