Wrågården

Wrågården is run organically. We grow our own vegetables to supply our various kitchens. On the farm we have bison, fallow deer, cattle, and moose that graze our land all year round and we grow our own winter fodder for the animals.

Our fresh meat and meat products can be bought in local shops, and we are members of Lokalproducerat i Väst, which promotes the production and use of local ingredients. On the farm we also have an apiary to support our cultivation and have bee products for sale in the farm shop.

We sort our waste – glass, plastic, paper, cooking waste, cardboard, aluminium, batteries, and light bulbs. In the restaurant we like to use our home-produced meat and vegetables. When we buy meat, chicken, or dairy we only use Swedish products, and we coordinate deliveries with our catering business so we can buy from our local dairy. We work to minimise food waste in our various kitchens.

Our menus include vegetarian and vegan dishes, and to reduce waste we encourage guests to visit the buffet several times and take smaller portions so they only take what they can eat. When single use items are unavoidable, we choose environmentally friendly options.

We also participate in the Local Menu project, which is a 3-year project with the aim of increasing the proportion of local food on menus. In our moose hotel we use environmentally friendly cleaning products, and we use a local laundry to avoid long distance deliveries. We offer good waste sorting facilities for our cottages.

For our conference guests we offer tap water and various conference package options that include our own meat and vegetables from the farm and our own baked goods. We also promote hiking in our scenic farm environment for conference guests to keep them stimulated throughout the day.

In our padel hall there are waste sorting facilities, and we have a system that turns the lights on and off according to when game times are booked.
