Slipens Hotell

Slipens Hotel offers seasonal activities throughout the year – it can be anything from lobster and crayfish fishing to golf or kayaking. To do this, we collaborate with local businesses, which in turn, contributes to the revenue staying local.

When there are the fewest visitors, for example during February, we have started music evenings with Restaurang Brygghuset where we host famous artists. The artist gets to spend a whole weekend on Skaftö and gets to experience the island along with Lysekil and the surrounding archipelago. For example, we take them lobster or oyster fishing, and in the evening, we present all the good things our coastal pantry has to offer – in close cooperation with the local fishermen.

When it’s the low season for conferences, we offer lobster fishing and Christmas dinners. We are also part of the West Sweden Tourist Board’s ‘Conference in Bohuslän’ campaign, which aims to attract conference guests during the off season.

For breakfast, we use smaller plates and present less on the buffet, choosing to replenish to meet demand during the breakfast period – all to reduce food waste.

Our guests can borrow bicycles at no extra cost so they can experience the environment in a sustainable way. They also get a map and we are happy to suggest places they should experience during their excursions.

Looking ahead, the plan is to build more hotel rooms, above all to be able to accommodate larger groups, which makes the business more resilient and contributes to more jobs.
