Lekanders bär och boende

Lekanders bär och boende (bed and berries) is a bed and breakfast and we have focused on making both parts more sustainable.

The rooms are heated by water-filled underfloor heating, heated by wood chips from our own forest. We have a 150 square meter solar energy installation on one of the roofs that provides electricity to our charging post. We buy new beds when necessary, but pretty much everything else is bought second-hand.

We grow the flowers for decoration in our own garden and the breakfast includes home-grown vegetables – fresh and pickled, and berries and fruit in season. We serve home-made marmalade and raw strawberry jam. We bake our own bread using a percentage of home-grown wheat, and we bake all the cakes ourselves.

Apart from the family, our employees are young people who live on Tjörn. We all have extensive knowledge of our island and can give guests general tourist information and specific tips based on their interests. Guests can hike on our own marked paths in the forest or on one of Tjörn’s many trails.
