Island of Light Smögen

In mid-September each year, The Island of Light festival takes place in Smögen and attracts thousands of visitors to the island during a period that is usually quiet and without many guests.

The light art has a very low environmental impact thanks to the use of advanced technology and technical solutions designed to minimize the footprint. We collaborate with light artists who use materials with low environmental impact in their work, often reusing production materials such as those from marine recycling.

The Island of Light festival invites both locals and visitors to a unique artistic experience. By extending the season in Smögen, the Island of Light festival contributes to stronger local businesses and creates opportunities for more full-time employment in the community.
