Grand Hotel Alingsås

The Grand Hotel has been owned by the Hartman/Persson family since 1992. The hotel has worked with environmental issues since 2000 but took the next step towards a more systematic environmental undertaking by getting an environmental certification in 2008. We have always been committed to sustainable development in Alingsås and actively participate in collaborations with associations and groups with other societal functions in Alingsås.

We have been Nordic Swan Ecolabelled since June 2017.

Our CEO, Anna Hartman, leads our sustainability work which is based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We have chosen to concentrate on the following goals:

• Goal 12 is to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

• Goal 13 is to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

• Goal 14 is to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.

• Goal 16 is to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

Our housekeeper Madeleine Nilsson is environmental co-ordinator and engages staff in daily activities as well as making it an inherent feature at staff meetings.

We are really proud of our local producers and as far as we can serve menus with ingredients from among others: Vikaryd, Svartemadens Potatoes, Skattegårdens Farmhouse Cheese and Alingsås Brewery.
