Sill & Dynamit

Sill & Dynamit opened in 2006. Even in those early days our ambition was to buy local produce, which wasn’t that simple back then. It’s considerably easier now. We use locally produced and organic seasonal ingredients as well as making beer in our own brewery, which we also sell to the Systembolag and colleagues in the area.

Some of the crockery used at Sill & Dynamit is bought from a local producer. We also think green when it comes to other purchases – for instance we use tablecloths and napkins made from unbleached linen and have hand towels in the toilets instead of paper ones. We give left-over candle stumps to a sewing club who melt them down to make new ones which they sell to raise money for charity.

In addition we try to encourage guests and groups visiting the brewery to stay a day longer, working with local hotels and other colleagues in the area to achieve that.

We have also bought Stadskvarnen in Mariestad – a 1200m² biotope area which we are developing as a national destination. This is going to generate a development of our drinks concept and give our guests the opportunity to shop from our regional pantry all year round. We hope it will also create more job opportunities.
